Ranked Games (Mini-Session, Part 2.)

"Treat Ranked Games as a form of investment."


You are investing your time into the ranked games, so obviously, you are expecting something in return. What you, and everyone else want to gain is the LP, so realistically, would you want to play those games in which there is something that lowers your chances of winning and getting that LP which you are looking for? Of course, the answer is no. That is why, we are going to set up a specific set of rules which you will be following from now on.


  • When getting into a Ranked Game, use only the things which you are familiar with. That includes items, champions, runes & positions. Do not try out anything new in a ranked game. Ever. That especially goes for the start of a new season, when you are still not completely familiar with the items themselves. 
  • Your Champion Pool should consist out of three champions. No more, no less. Three is the perfect number, because it makes your champion pool small enough so that you are able to master all the champions, yet still big enough so that you can fit into pretty much every team comp and every match up without any issues.
  • Find out who your primary champion is (the one you can connect & relate to, everyone has one). Once you do that, analyze the champion, highlighting all the attributes which you do love about it (Evelynn - Stealth & Burst; Caitlyn - Range & High Early Damage etc.). By following those basic attributes, find two additional champions who fit into the same playstyle. It is easier to master the champions who do fall into the same category, than the ones who do not. 
  • Do not play ranked games when you are feeling Sad | Tired | Tilted | Hungry etc. This state will result in a lack of focus and motivation, leading to you autopiloting throughout the game. When that happens, do not fall into the trap of Ranked Games, simply queue up for Normal or ARAM Games if you do feel like playing League.
  • It is extremely important to make a clear line between the games which we are playing for fun and the ones we are not. Ranked Games - Taken Seriously | Normal Games - Played for fun.

It is  the best  to limit yourself to a maximum  of five ranked games you’ll play on a daily basis, so your performance can be top notch.   Spamming more games does not necessarily mean you’ll improve just by playing, instead, play less and analyze the games you are playing. ...
